Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's 21 championships have been earned on hard courts
A revitalized Medvedev secured his maiden title for 882 days with success over Corentin Moutet in the Almaty Open final.
Medvedev, a former top-ranked player, has experienced a difficult period, achieving just one match at the Grand Slams and undergoing a setback at the American major.
Medvedev's varied form on the tennis tour - and struggles with his serve in particular - caused him exiting of the world's top 10 and eventually parting ways with former trainer Gilles Cervara.
Now collaborating with his coach and his other coach, he has consistently advanced in the past month - climaxing in a closely contested 7-5 4-6 6-3 victory over opponent Moutet.
This marks Medvedev's initial championship following the Italian tournament and first on a hard surface from March of the previous year.
The win also means the Russian has achieved 21 championships at twenty-one various competitions.
"It's the first time I am participating in a tournament with my children together, so to secure a title is particularly special," stated world number 14 the champion.
"This championship is in honour of my child my daughter, because the maiden victory I got when my first daughter her name was delivered was for her."
The tennis star, the 2021 US Open champion, had failed in his past six championship matches, including in Halle earlier this year.
Medvedev's retrieving approach and recurring reactions on the playing surface had caused commentators to doubt if his ability to compete at the highest level was finished.
Yet the athlete has made changes in recent weeks, striving to approach the net and perform aggressively, reinforced by an enhanced serve.
He came back from a break down in the opening set against the difficult Moutet, winning 4 of the last five exchanges to gain the advantage.
Both players traded break points in the middle set before the Frenchman, striving for his initial ATP Tour championship, gained dominance to force a third set.
The opponent rescued 4 initial break points in a close third set before the champion secured a break to that score to serve for the match.
Suitably, the winner secured the title with a shot at the net area, with Moutet incapable to manage a return after two hours and 38 minutes.
